Artist's Comments

With Walk, Run, Standard Attack and Jump animations.
Shocked?
A redux of the Rustbug sprite, and i think i've finally found what i was aiming for. The chunky sprite was fun, but it wasn't efficient, it was too fat and hard to animate. So i introduced the good aspects of the orginal Rustbug sprite (the agile look) and those of the chunky Rustbug sprite (the solidity) and gave it a clean up and wash of more intense colours.
This will hopefully be used in the 'Rustbug game'.

16 Unique colours, including transparency.
ALOT of Frames (since this is a catwalk animation).

how did you start animating, lar?

Ive tried so many times but I can never stay interested enough.

animation from standard to back walk isn't very smooth; he kinda just jumps into it.

very good, though :+fav:

I started with crappy animations on Animation Shop 3 quite a few years ago. When i got into pixel art i knew where to go to make animations so i guess it kinda came easier. Lots of help from the people of PixelJoint and Pixelation was necissary too. Yeah, unless i'm really into it it's hard to stay focused - but you gotta just keep going for it when you're in the mood.

Yeah you're right, will fix that. There's limited tweening in this animation because i just slapped it together using the seperate animations.

Thanks. :)

Excellent one!
This is an awesome animation for an A++ game.

Good luck with the rustbug game, your work deserves a good game to be in ^_^

cool, thanks for the tips :D

another question, though; do you separate the limbs and animate them separately or do you just edit the sprite over and over again?

Sweet, the animation is smooth and the palette looks good as well. Definitely an improvement over the older version.

Get some help. But don't ask me.
:iconlarw-ck:
I start off with seperation, but as i work on it more i'll end up just editing the whole thing, usually. Unless i have alot of change to make. I think... Heh. :)
